By the end of the course, the Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, Social Worker or Psychologist will be able to:

-Explain five predictors of school shootings.
-Explain four more predictors of school shootings.
-Discuss four threat assessment to prevent school violence.
-Discuss five warning behaviors between school shooters and other students of concern.
-Discuss six stereotypes regarding school shootings.
-Discuss three characteristics of campus threat management.
-Discuss four effects of trauma following a school shooting.
-Explain the legal consensus on the definition of a “true threat.”
-Explain the constitutional law issues involved in using profiles to prevent school violence.
-Name five effective strategies that have been used to reduce youth violence.
-Name the four guiding principles for structured professional judgment in violence risk assessment.
